This June, the Micro Opera Festival returns to the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. This evening of music will feature the world premiere of six short operas commissioned by Oklahoma composers. The themes of these unique operas range from dystopian future to spooky Mexican folklore. Be the first to hear these one-of-a-kind works performed by some of the most talented musicians in the state.
OK City Opera's Micro Opera Festival features six commissions by Oklahoma composers! Deonna Marie will be premiering the role of Damie and performing Damie’s Goodbye from The Burning. The opera was composed by Kangwa Mundende and was inspired by the stories and history of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.
